Attorney Laura White recently defended the Code Enforcement Officer (“CEO”) of the Town of Farmington in a defamation case brought against him by Farmington resident Dr. Christie James, who sued over statements the CEO made about her before the planning board.  The CEO brought a special motion to dismiss under Maine’s Anti-SLAPP statute, 14 M.R.S. § 556, which the Town of Farmington joined in.  To read the Superior Court’s Order granting Defendants’ special motion to dismiss, click here.
