We announce with profound sadness that Wes Crowell passed away this morning after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. A memorial service for Wes will be held at the South Congregational Church on Temple Street in Kennebunkport on Saturday, January 10th at 2:00 pm. A reception will be held immediately thereafter at the Coastal House, Route 1, Wells, ME.
Wes passed away at age 59. He is survived by his wife, Sue, their son Mark, daughter Jenna and son-in-law Brad. Wes touched the lives of so many in the community and legal community in his 28 years of practice. He began his practice with Bernstein Shur in 1986 until joining Bergen & Parkinson as a founding partner in 1998. He was an avid bird hunter and especially loved his many Gordon setters that he raised and trained over the years. Wes served on the Kennebunk Board of Selectmen and the Comprehensive Plan Review Committee. He loved playing hockey in his younger years and his love for the game remained even after he stopped playing. In the firm he was respected for his expertise, diligence and common sense, no nonsense approach. He had a mischievous sense of humor and was beloved by his staff.
Thanks in large part to Wes; Bergen & Parkinson has grown into a strong and enduring law firm in York County. His sudden passing came all too soon and our hearts are broken. We will cherish his memory and work to preserve and maintain his legacy.
We are grateful to the outpouring of support from all of our friends and colleagues.
